The commission is the selling price of the home multiplied by the % of commission you agreed to pay in your listing contract.

Where does the money go when I sell my home?
The money is split between the listing company and listing agent and the selling company and the selling agent. (this may change if a Purchaser's Agency Agreement has been signed) Sometimes a referral fee is also payable from the commission.

Do I need a home inspection when I buy a home?
Depends on your level of expertise, an inspection is highly recommended and will vary in price from $150.00 to $350.00

If your friends & relatives had a positive experience buying or selling a house ask them for the name of the agent , try some open houses (don't leave your name unless you want to hear from them), call the manager of an office and tell him what type of agent you are looking for and he will match you with a suitable agent.

Lots of things such as lawyers, inspections, surveyors, information on the neighborhood, financing,, moving, negotiating the offer, potable water certificates, water well records and market value are some items an experienced agent can help you with.

Some costs when selling are commission, discharging your mortgage, lawyers and inspection report for selling.

Yes you can if you are a first time buyer, up to $20,000.00.
